Description

Yeonju, a grade-seven civil servant at a community center of a town called Miryu, is as clear, thorough, and unyielding as they come when it’s about following the rules. However, her colleagues always point fingers at her for being too strict and stiff. Then one day, the elderly welfare project proposal she submits goes through, establishing it as a key initiative that’s supported by the mayor. Without much say, she must now operate Café Neverland, a senior job creation project.

None of her colleagues help her out of jealousy and frustration, but that’s all right because getting a promotion is a given deal as long as the project goes well.

However, she had no idea that she’d be faced with so many obstacles, for the most problematic seniors were recommended as staff members to operate the café with her. Manyoung is a spirit of his own and is constantly picking fights, while Seokjae, suffering from depression, fails to control his bowel movement whenever he becomes emotional. Junseop is so quiet that it almost feels like he’s ignoring everyone, while Kibok can never quite figure things out or get anything right. Yeonju is devastated to find out that she must operate a café with these elderly,

barely managing to sell twenty dollars’ worth of anything because no one even knows how to make coffee. At this rate, she’d be lucky to keep her job, let alone a promotion.

They say everyone has a talent of their own, and this must be true, for the elderly started contributing to the café using their very own skillsets. Seokjae is excellent at dealing with the customers because of his lifelong experience as a teacher, Manyoung can steal the customers’ attention with his shockingly accurate fortune-telling, Junseop is as good as a chef can possibly be, and Kibok is a world-class counselor with his open perspective that’s deeper than the best writers in history.

Soon, Café Neverland explodes with success, filled with romance, action, drama, and thrill through talents accumulated over decades and Yeonju’s painstaking effort!

Café Neverland overcomes their embarrassing days of making twenty dollars a day and ends up receiving the highest award for a senior job creation project. Yeonju happily returns to the café with the anticipation of a promotion when she walks in to notice that the café has been ruined, as if an earthquake had just taken place. All of the tables are flipped upside down while broken glasses and plates are scattered across the floor. Cleaning the café alone, Kibok mentions that Manyoung has been taken to the hospital by Seokjae, while Junseop ran away. It turns out that Junseop’s deep secret he wanted to take to his grave had been revealed due to Manyoung’s jealousy, blinded by love...
