Description 작품 소개

A collection of short stories flirting with the surreal and Kafkaesque: a father whose ashes turn into a chatting plant, a boyfriend whose hand becomes a broccoli, a group of investigative aliens fascinated by idol culture. Yuri’s world is permeated with humour, emotions, and style, giving us a refreshing perspective into the complexities of human nature and contemporary Korean society.

Lee Yuri (Gangwon, South Korea, 1990) began her literary career in 2020 through the Kyunghyang Shinmun New Year’s Literary Contest. She has published two short story collections, Broccoli Punch, which was her fiction debut, The World of All Things (2023), as well as a linked novel collection, Meet Me in a Good Place (2023).

Amber HJ Kim is a freelance Korean-English conference interpreter and translator based in Seoul. For nearly twenty years, Amber has been translating fiction and non-fiction; she  received the 2014 Korea Times Modern Literature Translation Award Commendation Prize in Fiction as well as multiple translation grants. She is a regular contributing translator for institutions such as LTI Korea and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea.
