Description 작품 소개
When Fictions of Midnight was published, Korean media, critics and readers were immediately thrilled. PARK Hyoung-Su’s second book comprises fresh and unique short stories. They are page-turners and can be finished at one sitting, but, at a closer look, one notices that the sentences are carefully polished. One of the stories, “The Art of Argument” has 16 sub-titles: ‘Gentle Threatening’ ‘Ignoring’ ‘Utilizing Examples the Opponent Has Never Heard of ’ ‘Interrupting’ and ‘Being Irrational,’ etc. As the reader chuckles along with the jokes, the writer’s bizarre style and tone emerge from the hidden, carefully premeditated plots. Another story, “The Wings” depicts a love story that unfurls in 2175, between a woman and a giant. “A Yellow Overpass” is a story about real places where the dead appear. PARK Hyoung-Su’s stories showcase the essence of black humor.
