Description 작품 소개
For those who went through the turbulence of the 1980s in Korea in their youth, poet CHOI Seung-Ja is a heartfelt symbol, and this is a poetry collection of her captivating early poems. Her usage of the vulgar language of dysphemism, self-hatred and self-disdain was a sign for both the liberation from and the dawning of a new poetry era in a male-dominated patriarchal society. The self-declaration of the narrator, who endures the barrenness of life and the danger of fatal love, while refusing any romantic illusions, remains as a seed of evil to many.
CHOI Seung-Ja
Born in 1952, in Yeongi, Chungcheongnam-do. She went to Sudo Girls High School and majored in German Literature at Korea University. She made her debut as a poet when she published four poems including “Love In Our Times” in the fall edition of the quarterly, Literature and Intellect, in 1979. Her anthologies of poems are Love in Our Times, Merry Diary, House of Memory and My Green Grave.
