The novel "Time Refugees" is about a society in the future where, after the spread of a virus, natural births have become almost impossible, which is why people are brought back from the past to ensure the existence of humanity.
The population consists of: Oldians (born normally), Natives (grown in artificial wombs), Time immigrants (brought from the past), and Androids. The state surveillance system Argus can monitor every person's field of vision through bioslots.
Kang Jihan, a South Korean independence fighter, is brought from the year 1937 into the future by Lee Suhyang. However, when Jihan arrives in the future, she is missing. His search leads him to discover dark secrets about consciousness takeover and the true purpose of time immigration.
The novel skillfully combines the genres of science fiction and crime to tell a story that shows that social problems are not solved by technological progress, but by human experience and intuition.
