2009년 11월 4일, 『보통의 존재』1판 1쇄가 독자들에게 소개되었다. 희망과 절망, 사람과 사랑에 대한 솔직한 언어로 가득찬 이 책은 출간 직후부터 지금까지 이삼십대 독자들에게 폭발적인 지지를 받았다. 그로부터 15년 후, 긴 세월 “이 책을 믿고 지지해준 독자”들을 위해 오십이 넘은 작가는 서른여덟에 쓴 첫 책을 두고 다시 펜을 들었다. 책에 실은 “5%의 거짓말”과 그 속마음, ‘그때는 맞고 지금은 틀린’ 이야기들을 여전히 진실된 그만의 필체로, 『보통의 존재』위에 덧대어보았다.
