허블에서 펴내는 첫 SF 시집

“우주는 강아지가 산책하는 넓은 운동장
무서운 마음이 들 때마다 나는 그렇게 상상해요”
허블에서 『뭐 사랑도 있겠고, 인간 고유의 특성: SF 시집』이 출간되었다. 이 책은 SF 소설을 주로 출간해 온 허블에서 드디어 펴낸 첫 시집이며, 무엇보다 ‘SF 시집’이라는 이름이 직접 붙은 국내 첫 시집이기도 하다. 김혜순, 신해욱, 이제니, 김승일, 김현, 서윤후, 조시현, 최재원, 임유영, 고선경, 유선혜, 한영원. 별다른 수식이 필요 없을 정도로 저마다 고유한 영토를 구축해 온 시인들이 시적인 것의 특장과 SF성의 접점을 모색한 결과물이 이 한 권에 모였다.
특히 이 시집은 시인들 ‘개별 단행본 시집에는 수록되지 않은’ 신작(혹은 문예지 기발표작)으로 구성되어 더욱 특별한데, 이를테면 김혜순 시인이 최근작 『싱크로나이즈드 바다 아네모네』 이후 처음 선보이는 신작 3편을 이 책에서 처음 만나볼 수 있는 셈이다. 이 SF 시집은 시인들이 저마다 거느리고 있는 시적 언어의 독창성과 SF적인 것이 포개질 때 드러나는 낯섦과 경이의 세계로 빛을 발한다.
그러면서도 입각점은 SF 시‘집’이라는 하나의 집 혹은 흐름에 머문다. 일반적인 앤솔러지의 경우, 여러 작가들의 작품 모음이므로 작가별로 구획하여 순서를 나열하듯 편성하지만, 이 시집에서는 12명 시인의 시편들이 제각기 흩어져, 읽는 독자로 하여금 어떤 시가 누구의 시인지 알 수 없게끔, 그러나 알맞게 조율된 흐름 속에서 SF 시를 감각하게끔 자리를 점한다. 왜냐하면 시집 속에서 개별 시들은 그 앞과 뒤의 시들로, 그 시들의 묘한 연결들로 맥락화되어 별자리를 형성하기 때문이다.
종과 개체, 퀴어, 생물성, 변신, 자연, 우주, 무한, 외계, 시간, 타자, 사랑을 아우르는 시편들이 총망라된 이 SF 시집은 흡사 별빛처럼 흩뿌려지면서 한 권의 책으로 깃들어 진동한다.
