Description 작품 소개

An earnest greeting to those who are far away, a journey of love clearly carved in the leaf

Vitistia is a rare plant that is the only species in this world, and is known to contain a message from its owner. It became extinct due to Tsunami of heatwave a couple of years ago, and the Kuzine Tribe’s custom of putting one’s message on the Vitistia leaf and sending it to others was dismissed as a superstition and disappeared. The leaf that Irwin has is the last one, grown from a tree of his great grandfather, Purun. The only way to decode the message of the leaf is to find a method has passed down through the ages among the Kuzines. While Irwin struggles to find a way, a suspicious mail arrives. The unknown sender of the mail says that he has the key and is willing to hand it over to her. Despite all the prejudiced words from others, Irwin decides to move on to find her own ancestor’s messages through century.

Hwang Mogwa’s plot develops in the context of history. The author revives moments of the history in her novel and asks readers who forgot the past questions like this: What choice would you make if you were in this situation, and which life would you live by crossing the time? In this sense, the experience of reading her novel is like acquiring a memory we share together and having an individual memory of yours at the same time.
