After graduating from Kyungwon University with a major in Textile Art, Cha Yoojean worked in music promotion, event planning, and as a jazz journalist. She studied at Tante Marie School of Cookery in the UK and later ran a cooking studio in Hongdae. During a seven-month journey through South America and the US, she captured stories of food and culture in writing. Following her first book, Cha Yoojean's Test Kitchen for Food Lovers, she published her second book, Youth in South America. She currently operates a tarot and fortune-telling consultation salon called "A Table."
