Translator Bio 번역가 소개
Hyeon Jeong Lee (she/her) studied English Literature at Seoul National University and received her PhD degree in English at the University at Buffalo. Lee was awarded a translation grant from the Literature Translation Institute of Korea for her translation of Uhye Song’s White Bird, which she co-translated with Cynthia M. Childs. Lee also co-translated Sung-hee Yoon’s short story “The Duty of Loneliness” with Childs and published it in the Tammy Journal. Lee’s major translation interests include lietrary fiction, academic pieces on Korean history and society, and literary criticism. These days, she is specifically interested in literary works that could be read by young adult readers. Since she received her PhD degree, she has been living in Illinois, US with her three daughters and husband, translating and teaching Korean at a local Korean school.
