After completing a PhD in Korean Studies, Marion Gilbert specialized in literature translation. She has translated a little more than ten novels and worked as a translation manager for two years (2020–2022). Thanks to her PhD, she also teaches translation class at Université Paris Cité, as well as Korean at various universities, including La Sorbonne and INALCO.
