Description
Founded in 1987 by sociologist Jean Viard and Marion Hennebert, Éditions de l’Aube is an independent publishing house based in the Vaucluse region of France. Independence is a core element of its identity and a guarantee of the quality of the topics it addresses. Its catalogue gives a central place to essays, historically devoted to territory and spatial planning, notably through its flagship series Monde en cours, created and edited by Jean Viard, which brings together well-known and respected authors. Over time, the publishing house has broadened its scope to include a wide range of themes from the social sciences and humanities, addressing contemporary issues such as the environment, feminism, politics, and digital technology. Éditions de l’Aube also develops a committed literary output, including fiction and crime novels. The long-standing series Regards croisés, founded by Marion Hennebert, is dedicated to French-language and international literature, while Aube noire, created by Manon Viard, focuses on noir and crime fiction that exposes the darkest aspects of today’s societies. Today, the publishing house employs around ten people and works with several external collaborators. Its books have long been distributed and marketed by Harmonia Mundi.
