Lee Man-Hee (1954-) is a South Korean playwright who debuted in 1979 with Yeongwonhi jiweojiji anneun mira sogui sichaedeul (영원히 지워지지 않는 미라 속의 시체들 The Bodies in the Mummies That Will Never be Erased), which was selected by the Dong-a Ilbo’s long-form theater competition. Lee sets out to explore the essence of humanity, and has focused on a Buddhist reflection on human existence in his works. For his 1990 work Geugeoseun moktak gumeong sogui jageun eodumieotseumnida (그것은 목탁 구멍 속의 작은 어둠이었습니다 That was a Small Darkness in the Hole of the Moktak), Lee won the Best Script Prize at the Seoul Theater Festival and the Baek Seok Art Prize for Theater (1991). •Play Bul jom kkeojuseyo (불 좀 꺼주세요 Please Turn Out the Light) (1992) •Play Pigo jigo pigo jigo (피고 지고 피고 지고 Blooming and Withering Blooming and Withering) (1993) •Play Doraseoseo tteonara (돌아서서 떠나라 Turn Around and Leave) (1996)

Shin Sang-Ung (1938 ~) is a Korean novelist. He is one of the most representative writers of so-called the “April Revolution Generation” and has been perceived as a pioneer in literary fields dealing with the tragic division of the country. He made himself known with his novella Hipokeurateseu hyungsang (히포크라테스 흉상 A Bust of Hippocrates) (1968), and his novel Simyaui jeongdam (심야의 정담 Three Voices at Midnight) (1972) is his most widely-read book.

Yun Son-do
윤선도
Yun Seon-do was a mid-Joseon period bureaucrat and literary man. He was a sijo (Korean traditional three-lined fixed poem) writer who wrote works such as Eobusasisa (漁父四時詞 Fisherman’s Calendar) and Ouga (五友歌 Song of the Five Friends). His career as an official was not easy, but he is said to have achieved the pinnacle of sijo aesthetics with a natural and sophisticated use of the Korean language.
