About Event

Since its founding in 2008, the Korean Literature Association (KLA) has been devoted to the advancement of the study and publication of Korean literature and culture in North America. The association’s annual meetings have provided over the years a space of physical and virtual encounter for researchers in Korean studies, and they have facilitated transnational intellectual exchanges across the Pacific as well as globally.
The Korean Literature Association (KLA) is focusing its annual meeting on the theme of posthumanism. The theme has risen to prominence in this age of generative artificial intelligence, climate crisis, and the consequent interrogation of anthropocentrism as well as traditional humanism. The conference aims to provide an opportunity for researchers in Korean studies to collaboratively reflect on some of the most pressing intellectual challenges of our era with a focus on posthumanism. This event has been widely publicized on our mailing list and is intended for graduate students and professors of Korean literature and cultural studies. However, the event is also open to So-Cal residents and beyond, so please join us!
