Published in 2005, this collection of nine short stories by Pyun Hye Young deals with people who have been discarded or pushed to the very brink of the world. In these stories, including “Reservoir,” “Manhole,” “International Exposition,” and “Corpses,” the writer deals with mysterious deaths, missing people, or unidentifiable dead bodies as she exposes grotesque reality, the absurdity in life, and marginalized people whose meaning is denied by the world.
