The story follows the seemingly ordinary quest of a young person searching for their dream, yet it deliberately emphasizes this "ordinariness," making it easy for readers to relate. Another novel unfolds within the novel—this work offers an interesting development where each story progresses and each protagonist drives their narrative forward.

Oh Yeon-de, fresh out of the military, is dumped by his senior crush who tells him, "I hate men without dreams." To find his own dream, Yeon-de starts living alone in a room meant only for sleeping.

Among the cardboard boxes left behind by the previous tenant, he discovers several notebooks. Inside are novels written by the notebook's owner, with Yeon-de as the protagonist. The notebook's owner—and the story's protagonist—reunites in college with a childhood friend who had disappeared after they shared a faint childhood crush.

Influenced by the story's world, Yong-de begins to change little by little. As if responding to this changing Yong-de, the story races toward its conclusion at an upbeat pace.
