In the year 2085, where a zoonotic pandemic has wiped out all animals,
a cat embarks on its last adventure to save the planet!
An extraordinary time slip action fantasy with a message about the environment!
Faced with a zoonotic pandemic threatening humanity’s survival, drastic measures were taken to eradicate all potential hosts—every mammal. As a result, Earth is now a world devoid of any animal species except humans. However, even within the human population, only a select few are allowed to live in the secure area known as “New Clean City” through strict evaluations. The world has become a place of fierce competition, mirroring the struggles of the animal kingdom.
Seorim, a girl from the slums, is determined to pass the evaluation and secure a spot in New Clean City. One day, she ventures into a closed area sprayed with lethal sterilization gas and encounters a cat named Eunsil. Together with Eunsil and a genius young hacker Hose, Seorim infiltrates the city and uncovers a vast conspiracy orchestrated by the World Human Conservation Organization, the architects behind the mass annihilation project.
Amidst the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing environmental pollution and climate crisis, we face uncertainties about when and how unexpected variables might appear and put both people and nature in danger. One of the reasons why people are particularly frightened by the coronavirus is it can spread between animals and humans.
What if all mammals disappear on Earth except humans? Sigan Goyangi: Dongmuli Sarajin Segye (Cat of Time: A World Where Animals Are Disappeared) is a children’s fantasy fiction set in a world devastated by a zoonotic virus. As Seorim, a slum girl, discovers the last remaining cat in the world named Eunsil, an adventure unfolds. Their journey not only excites readers with the tense development of the plot but also conveys important values of “life” and “coexistence.”
