Originally published in Korea in 1990, Silver Stallion is Not Coming was first published in paperback in the United States in 1988 under the title Silver Stallion, Eunmah. Twenty-five years later, through the publishing house Nanam, Silver Stallion was published as an expanded edition of Silver Stallion.


Set in Geumsan-ri, Seomyeon-si, Chuncheon, Silver Stallion is a realistic portrayal of a traditional Korean rural village that is rapidly disintegrating due to the influx of American culture in the midst of the Korean War.

Ahn Junghyo안정효

Ahn Junghyo (1941~2023) was a novelist and translator whose works document the scars left on human beings by the violence of state-made wars, such as the Korean and Vietnam wars, and ask the meaning of human life and death through the images of disintegrating rural areas and poor rural people.
