Seo Jeong Oh (1955-) is a South Korean children’s writer who debuted in 1984 with the novel Eoncheongi suni (언청이 순이 Hare-Lipped Suni). Heo Gyun (許筠, 1569–1618) was a civil official, writer, thinker and reformer in the mid-Joseon period. He left a large body of writing opposing Korea’s medieval etiquette-based education and criticizing the social contradictions of his time. Heo met a tragic death by execution after being implicated in a case of treason.

Even though she did not adopt specific ideological positions, the belief that collective action can affect positive changes in people's lives still underpinned much of her works. As the prevailing mood of disillusionment began to supplant the earlier decade's fervor in the consumer culture of the 1990s, Yang's fiction underwent change as well.

Park Hyon-suk (1926 ~) is a Korean playwright. From the 1950s onward, she has written a number of literary works as one of the first-generation female playwrights in Korea.
