Jeong Geukin
정극인
Jeong Geukin (1401-1481) is a writer from the Joseon Dynasty. In 1472, he was conferred the position of an official of the third rank without office for having taught the children of local officials, and he was so touched that he wrote “Buruheonga” (불우헌가(不憂軒歌) Song of Buruheon) and “Buruheongok” (불우헌곡(不憂軒曲) Music of Buruheon). He is known to have lived a life of integrity and simplicity. He was skilled in literature, and he wrote “Sangchungok” (상춘곡 Song of Indulgence in Spring), known as the first lyrical work in the history of Korean literature.
