Chung Il Keun (1958~) is a South Korean poet. He made his literary debut in 1984 by publishing his poems in the magazine Literature and Practice. In 1985, he won the Hankook Ilbo New Writer’s Contest. His poetry deals with the pain and loss of marginalized people. Chung won the 2003 Sowol Poetry Award (2003) and the 2006 Youngrang Poetry Award. •Poetry collection Badaga boineun gyosil (바다가 보이는 교실 The Classroom Overlooking the Sea) (1997)•Poetry collection Madangeuro chulgeunhaneun siin (마당으로 출근하는 시인 The Poet Who Goes to Work in the Yard) (2003)
