Kang Jeong Yeon (1975-) is a South Korean children’s writer. She made her literary debut in 2004 when her children’s story Nureongi jasalhada (누렁이 자살하다 Old Yellow Commits Suicide) won the Munhwa Ilbo Spring Literary Contest. She writes about stories that comfort the people who endure the unstable reality and daily. Kang is the recipient of the Korea Award for Hans Christian Andersen (2005) and the Golden Dokkaebi (2007).
