Kim Haeun is a South Korean children's literature writer who received the Korea An-dersen Award in 2011 for her work "The Tailed Frog, Kwak-beok." The story revolves around a frog with a tail who, while acknowledging his own shortcomings, unfolds his unique talent for creating entertaining stories through the process of understanding other animals. The tales told by the animal characters in the work reveal a critical awareness of humans destroying the environment. The narrative reflects on the possibility of coexist-ence between humans and animals. In 2014, Kim Haeun presented her first novel targeting young adult readers, titled "Ice Bandage Stockings." The novel directly addresses a case of attempted sexual assault involving a seventeen-year-old female student. The protagonist not only experiences humiliating and violent treatment from an unknown male but also endures the painful situation where the incident becomes a gossip topic in school. The novel has been praised for expanding the issue beyond the scope of sexual assault and using it to ex-plore the broader theme of violence inflicted on the sensitive mental world of teenagers.
