One Day I’ll Be Sitting In A Pub
One Day I’ll Be Sitting In A Pub, an anthology of poems by HWANG Ji-Woo, is a unique collection in which the poet juxtaposes the objective images of people from his present day with the particularities of the poet’s life. The realm of sorrow, empathy, and passion which would describe the poet’s private life is not drawn in a drab way but in a translucent manner; in his broader portrayal of the people, subtle details of their lives vividly stand out. The poet writes in layered language to delineate the multitudinous dimensions of people, and delves into the root of his own desires, with his style of taut verses, which is characteristic of his poetry.
