Translator Bio 번역가 소개
Álvaro Trigo Maldonado is a Professor of Korean Studies in the Department of Modern Philology at the University of Salamanca. He holds a degree in Philology and a Master’s in East Asian Studies from the University of Salamanca. He completed a Master’s in Korean History and Culture at the Academy of Korean Studies and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Salamanca with a dissertation on the literary universe of Chae Mansik.
In 2017, he was awarded the LTI Korea Award for Emerging Translators after completing a two-year specialization program in translation at that institution. In 2024, he received the Daesan Literary Award in the translation category.
To date, he has translated literary works, webtoons, Android video games, children’s stories, critical reviews, and other types of texts from Korean into Spanish. He has translated more than 18 novels by authors such as Kim Kyeong-uk, Chang Kang-myoung, O Jeonghui, and Kim Aeran, among others.
