To mark the publication of the book “Heungboga, Le Dit de Heungbo” (Heungboga, The Tale of Heungbo), published by Imago, an illustrated lecture will pay tribute to pansori (traditional single-voice singing with drum), a Unesco intangible heritage site, and introduce the character of Heungbo.
This event highlights the work done to translate and publish pansori, illustrated by the example of the Dit de Heungbo, with a presentation by Ms. Chae Soo-jung, singer and author of the translated Korean version.
The evening will conclude with a festive mini-concert of rhythmic translation into French by Hervé Péjaudier, followed by the same excerpts sung by Ms. Chae Soo-jung, offering a moment of musical and cultural connection with the audience.
In addition, Marie-Jeanne and Thierry Auzas, founders and directors of Editions IMAGO, holders of the Prix Culturel France-Corée 2019 and the Prix du Mérite du LTI Korea 2023, will share the history and prospects of the publishing adventure, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Scènes Coréennes collection.
With the support of the Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI).
