Between October 17 and 27, the Amadora City Council is organizing the 35th Amadora BD - International Comics Festival.
Under the theme of 'Humanity', the event celebrates the 50th anniversary of April 25 with numerous exhibitions extolling the values of democracy, freedom, justice and equality.
More than a dozen international comics authors have been confirmed for this edition, and it is worth highlighting the presence of prestigious creators who, during the Festival, will launch the Portuguese editions of their works: South Korean Keum Suk Gendry-Kim (Grass), Dutch Aimée de Jongh (comic book adaptation of Wiliam Goulding's classic Lord of the Flies), Frenchman Mathieu Sapin (Edgar), Brazilian Marcelo D'Salete (Mukanda Tiodora), Christian Lax (A Universidade das Cabras) and Mikäel (continuation of the Giant series).
Alex Maleev and Joe Rubinstein will also be at Amadora BD'24, with their works on display in the exhibition dedicated to the Marvel Comics hero Daredevil.
* This event/activity has been partially funded by the International Exchange Grants from LTI Korea.
