The Korean Cultural Center in LA will host a three-month screening of the "Korean Short Literature Animation Series: Director Jae-Hunn Ahn's Films Screening." This screening, where audiences can meet the director and experience the unique colors of Korea, will be open to locals in LA and is planned to be free of charge. Pre-registration can be made through the LA Korean Cultural Center's website.

At FILBo 2024 we will dedicate the cultural and academic programming to the natural world and the alternative ways of life it proposes, at a time when humanity seems to need them. Plants, for example, favor silence and slowness, which is very similar to reading.

The world of fungi, minerals, animals - to which we belong despite the fact that we sometimes forget it - each has its own ways of inhabiting the planet, and we want to highlight them through books, reading and words, to contribute to the discussion on our own ways of relating to the environment.

In democracy, mankind has achieved a method of reconciliation with his fellow men; now it is vital to find a way to live in harmony with the other beings of the earth. For this reason, ·Lee la naturaleza· will be the programmatic theme of FILBo, the great annual event in Colombia with the paper garden that is the book.

After the tremendous success of her first work published in Colombia, Korean author Cho Nam-joo returns with a long-awaited book of short stories, Lo que sabe la señorita Kim, in which, as in her novel, she makes a fierce critique of the rigid impositions of Korean society with respect to women and education. He'll talk about it and more in this conversation with Sara Trejos of Presunto Pódcast.

Eligibility: Translators of Korean literature into French with at least one but no more than three published works of Korean literature

Number of participants: 1

Participation Period/Location: Aug. 1, 2024 (Thu) ~ Aug. 31 (Sat) / Arles, France

Support
- Participation fee for the residency program (accommodation, registration fee, stay fee)*.
- Round-trip airfare (economy class) or round-trip transportation (rail fare, etc.)

* Participation fee will be negotiated between CITL and LTI Korea, and cannot be adjusted or requested individually.

Activities and Tasks
- Korean literature translation activities
- Submit a report on the outcome of the program and the results (translations) within one month from the end of the program.

*Result report form will be provided after the end of the program
