Ryu Chundo
류춘도
Ryu Chundo (1927~) is a South Korean poet. During the Korean War, she participated as a volunteer in North Korea, and experienced battles as a surgeon, including the Battle of Namgang, the fiercest battleground of the Korean War. She started writing poetry in her 70s. Ryu is the author of the poetry collections Ichiji anneun saramdeul (잊히지 않는 사람들 The Unforgettable People), Dangsini naimnida (당신이 나입니다 You Are Me), and the prose collection Beongeorisae (벙어리새 The Mute Bird).
