No Soomin is a South Korean novelist who debuted through the Korea Joongang Daily in 1979 with Godokan pasukkun (고독한 파수꾼 The Lonely Guard). No has been awarded the Kyung Hee Literature Prize, the Hankyoreh Literary Award, and the Korean Literary Fiction prize. No’s novels Wiheomhan yeonga (위험한 연가 A Dangerous Ballad) and Bulbada (불바다 A Sea of Flames) were translated into Chinese and Japanese respectively, becoming bestsellers.
