Choi Myeongik (1902 – 1972) is a South Korean novelist. In the 1930s, he received attention for his psychological novels which delicately portray everyday life in modern cities and the intellectuals’ feelings of helplessness under the Japanese colonial rule. After Korea’s independence, he remained in North Korea to continue to write novels, and after the 1950s, released several full-length historical novels.

Kwon Jeonghui studied mechanical engineering at university. Her writing career began when she won in the poetry category at the Annual Spring Literary Contest in Korea. She contributed as a story writer for a Naver webtoon titled Jangmiapateu Gonggyeongbi (Janitor Gong of Rose Apartment). She also authored Yiseondong Keulinsenteo (Mr. Lee Clean Center), a human drama novel that received the first prize at the KOCCA Korea Story Contest. This novel was translated and published in Indonesia and Taiwan and adapted into a musical with the same title, receiving immense love.
Wi Soo Jung
위수정
Wi Soo Jung debuted in 2017 when her short story, “The Grave, Little by Little,” won the Dong-A Ilbo’s New Writer’s Award. Her publications include the short story collection A World of Silver, which contains the story “Landscapes and Love” that is featured here.

위기철은 1961년 서울에서 태어났다. 연세대학교 불어불문학과를 졸업했다. 1980년대 중반부터 진보 성향의 잡지나 신문에 콩트와 칼럼을 발표하며 작품 활동을 시작했다. 초등학생을 위한 철학‧논리 입문서인 《반갑다, 논리야》와 소설 《아홉살 인생》, 《고슴도치》, 《껌》 등을 발표했다. 《반갑다, 논리야》는 한국 초등학생의 필독서이자 100쇄 이상을 찍은 베스트셀러가 되었다. 1991년에 발표한 소설 《아홉살 인생》은 아홉 살짜리 주인공을 통해 작가가 인생에서 깨달은 삶의 의미를 전달하는 작품이다. 현실은 끔찍하지만 인간은 타인과 관계를 맺으며 그 현실을 살아갈 수 밖에 없다는 이야기를 한다.
