Hong Shin-seon (1944~) is a Korean poet. His writing career dates back to the 1960s, when he was active as a modernist poet. During the 1970-80s, his poetry engaged critically with the politics of the time. From the 1990s, Hong’s focus shifted to Buddhist thought, and the serial poem Maeumgyung (마음경 The Book of the Mind), which was written over a period over twenty years, is considered his major work.

Ryu Chundo

Ryu Chundo (1927~) is a South Korean poet. During the Korean War, she participated as a volunteer in North Korea, and experienced battles as a surgeon, including the Battle of Namgang, the fiercest battleground of the Korean War. She started writing poetry in her 70s. Kim Daljin
김달진
Kim Daljin (1907 -1989) was a Korean poet and scholar of the Chinese classics. Since he converted to Buddhism in the early 1930s, he translated dozens of Oriental classics as well as the Tripitaka. When he wrote poetry, he captured the true nature in an intuitive language based on the Buddhist idea.
