Gim Si-jong (1929-) is a South Korean poet. He began to write poetry in Japanese in 1950. Having experienced the tragedy of modern history with his whole body, he has been working fiercely against the fate of being a Zainichi Korean. He won the 40th Mainichi Publishing Culture Award for Jaeirui teumsaeeseo (재일의 틈새에서In the Cracks of Japan) in 1986, the Hideo Oguma Poetry Prize for Wonyaui si (원야의 시Poems of the Wilderness) in 1992, and the 41st Jun Takami Award for Ireobeorin gyejeol (잃어버린 계절The Lost Season) in 2011.
