Born in Pohang in 1983, Lee Soyounstudied creative writing at Chung-Ang University. Her writing career began in2014 when she won the Korea Economic Daily Spring Literary Contest with herpoem “The Origin of Brain Prenatal Education.” She is the author of the poetrycollection I Need a Girl Who Will Die Slowly. In 2020, she received thehighest number of votes in the poetry category of ‘The Faces of KoreanLiterature’ survey. Lee is a member of the creative collective Kyeom.
