유재수는 한국의 동화작가다. 대학교를 졸업한 후 탁아운동단체 `해송`에서 활동하며 어린이 문학에 관심을 가졌다. 작품으로 《백두산 이야기》, 《자장자장 엄마 품에》, 《눈사람이 된 풍선》, 《돌이와 장수매》 등이 있다. 특히 2002년에 출간된 그림책 《노란 우산》은 2002년 ‘뉴욕타임스 올해의 우수 그림책’으로 선정되었다.

Son Chang-sop (1922 - 2010) was a South Korean novelist. He completed his middle school education in Kyoto and Tokyo. He then enrolled in law school at Nihon University but was unable to graduate. In 1949, he published a short story entitled “Ssaumui wonineun dongtaedaegariwa kkorie itda” (싸움의 원인은 동태대가리와 꼬리에 있다 The Fight Caused by the Head and Tail Frozen Pollack) in Yonhap Sinmun. In 1952, he published his short story “Gonghyuil” (공휴일 Holiday) in Munye and made his literary debut. Son Chang-sop’s work is known for its pessimistic and cynical portrayal of post-war life. He died in Japan on June 23rd, 2010.

Kim Jongil (1975~) is a South Korean novelist. He made his literary debut in 2004 when his work Mom (몸 Body) won the Golden Dragon Literary Award, a major genre literature award in Korea. Gong Sun-Ok (born 1963) is a modern South Korean writer.

Choi Jin-Young has been publishing fiction since 2006. She debuted as a writer through Silcheon Munhak, and won the 15th Hankyoreh Literary Award in 2010 for her novel The Name of the Girl Who Passed You By. Choi has received numerous other literary awards including the Manhae Literary Award, the Baek Sin-ae Literary Award, and the Sin Dong-yup Prize for Literature. She is the author of the novels The Name of the Girl Who Passed You By, Unfinished Song, Why Didn’t I Die?, Proof of Gu, To the Warm Horizon, Dear Sister, and Dream of Becoming Myself; and the short story collections The Top, and Winter Vacation.
