Kyoungsun Lim is a novelist / essayist based in Seoul, Korea. Prior to her debut in 2005, she had a career in corporate marketing field for 12 years. She has written more than 20 books, including major titles such as novels and essays.

1. Life
Kyoungsun Lim was born in Seoul but since 5 years old, she has lived in various parts of the world, including Japan, United States, Portugal and Brazil due to her father’s diplomat career. She majored in politics and international relations in Sogang University and University of Tokyo Graduate School. After graduation, she worked in corporate marketing field for 12 years but had to quit due to health conditions. Since then she started a writing career from newspaper/magazine columns, that expanded on to writing more than 20 novels and essays. She has also worked as a popular radio personality for 7 years.
2. Writing
Kyoungsun Lim’s writings can be received as somewhat distinctive or different from typical Korean literature and it is probably due to her background in various countries and cultures. Her writings are subtle and simple, yet truthful. She is keen to write on complex feelings and thoughts, attitude on life and love, especially focusing on love’s profound light and shadow through short stories and novels. Most of her books have launched on the bestseller lists and the most loved book so far is essay which sold 220,000 copies in print. Kyoungsun Lim also speaks English and Japanese fluently.
