Won Taeyeon (1971-) is a South Korean writer. Won debuted in 1992 with the poetry collection Neon gakkeumgada nae saenggageul haji nan gakkeumgada ttan saenggageul hae (넌 가끔가다 내 생각을 하지 난 가끔가다 딴 생각을 해 Sometimes You Think of Me, Sometimes I Think of Something Else). A modernist writer who boldly embraced experimental techniques and meticulous craftsmanship, Pak Taewon was primarily concerned with the aestheticism and the mode of expression itself rather than the ideas expressed. His early fictional works, in particular, were a product of his attempt to engineer a new writing style: Piro (피로 Exhaustion) and Ttakhan saramdeul (딱한 사람들Forlorn People) contain symbols and diagrams from newspaper advertisements; Jeonmal (전말 Circumstances) and Biryang (비량 Sorrow), contain long phrases composed of over five sentences strung together with commas.

Kim Daljin (1907 -1989) was a Korean poet and scholar of the Chinese classics. Since he converted to Buddhism in the early 1930s, he translated dozens of Oriental classics as well as the Tripitaka. When he wrote poetry, he captured the true nature in an intuitive language based on the Buddhist idea.

An Doseop (1933~) is a South Korean poet. He made his literary debut in 1958 when his poems “Bulmoji” (불모지 Wasteland) and “Haedanghwa” (해당화 Sweetbrier) won the Chosun Ilbo New Writer’s Contest and the Pyunghwa Shinmun New Writer’s Contest respectively. He has written poems set against the backdrop of Korean history, including an epic poem about the Donghak Peasants` War.
