Gu Soeun
구소은
Gu Soeun (1964-) is a South Korean novelist. She began her literary career in 2013 with the publication of the novel Geomeun morae (검은 모래 Black Sand). In the same year, she won the 1st Jeju April 3 Peace Literature Award with Geomeun morae. For the same novel, she received praise for fictionalizing the tragedy of modern Korean history in terms of a grand discourse. Gu raises questions about the relationship between the individual and the state from various aspects in her works.
