Kang Young-sook was born in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. She played volleyball and long jump as a student athlete in her teens. She studied creative writing at Seoul Institute of the Arts. Kang made her literary debut in 1998 when she won the Seoul Shinmun New Writer’s Contest with the short story "Parworui siksa" (팔월의 식사 A Meal in August).

Shin Sang-Ung (1938 ~) is a Korean novelist. He is one of the most representative writers of so-called the “April Revolution Generation” and has been perceived as a pioneer in literary fields dealing with the tragic division of the country. He made himself known with his novella Hipokeurateseu hyungsang (히포크라테스 흉상 A Bust of Hippocrates) (1968), and his novel Simyaui jeongdam (심야의 정담 Three Voices at Midnight) (1972) is his most widely-read book.

She is studying law at the University of Law. She won the 17th Changbi Youth Literature Award for her novel 『The Gaze of Yul』.

Son Bo-mi debuted in 2009 when she received the Twenty-First Century journal’s New Writer’s Award and launched a full-fledged literary career in 2011 when she won the DongA Ilbo Spring Literature Contest. She has authored the short story collections Bringing Them the Lindy Hop, Elegant Nights and Cats, The Dream of Love, and Manhattan Fireflies, the novella The God of Coincidence, the novels Dear Ralph Lauren and Little Village, Children of Disappeared Forest, and the essay Everybody Lies. She has received the Munhakdongne Young Writers’ Award, Hankook Ilbo Literary Award, the Kim Junseong Literary Award, the Daesan Literary Award, and Yi Sang Literary Award, etc.

Lee Injik (1862-1916) was a Korean novelist. Considered the ancestor of modern Korean novels, Lee started out in the media as an assistant at a newspaper company while studying abroad in Japan. Upon his return to Joseon, he became an active writer of sinsoseol, a journalist, and a politician. His representative works are Hyeorui nu (血의 淚 Tears of Blood) (1906), Gwiui seong (鬼의 聲 Songs of Spirits) (1906-1907), and Eunsegye (銀世界 Silvery World). Lee’s criticism of the underdeveloped status of Joseon and his argument for enlightenment led to a support for Japanese rule over the kingdom. Through the media, Lee advocated for Imperial Japan’s rule over Joseon, and played a critical role in Japan’s forcible annexation of Joseon.
