Jeong Jia

Born in Gurye, South Jeolla Province in 1965, Jeong Jia completed her doctoral studies in creative writing at Chung-Ang University Graduate School. Jeong debuted as a writer with her full-length novel The Partisan’s Daughter in 1990, with her short story Goyomnamu being selected as the winner of Chosun Ilbo New Writer’s Contest in 1995. Her collections of novels include Happiness, Light of Spring, The Forest Speaks, and Enemy of Capitalism. Jeong also earned recognition with various awards including Kim Yoo-jung Literary Award, Simhun Literary Award, Lee Hyo-Seok Literature Award, Hahn Moo-Sook Literary Prize, Today’s Novel Prize, and No Gun Ri Peace Award in Literature.
