This novel by Park Sangyeon was published in 1997 and its film adaptation was released under the title JSA (Joint Security Area) in 2000. The novel version of the story is told from two different perspectives: the main character’s investigation into the murder of a North Korean soldier, and the diary of the main character’s father. The writer looks at the relationship between the two Koreas from a humanistic perspective.
