It is told from the perspective of a mentally unstable narrator who, unable to accept the death of his wife, begins to soliloquize at length about her brother’s murder. A monodrama, the novel toys with the divide between normality and abnormality, reality and fantasy, and invites the reader to question the truth behind the narrator’s statements.
