Published in 2020, this collection of 25 poems by Yang Anda is the twelfth volume in the K-Poet Series. Structured like a film, the poetry cycle opens with an “invitation” and ends with a “curtain call.” Despite these indicators of a potentially grand narrative, the poems do not relay any specific events; likewise, the poetic narrator shows no sign of conflict or reconciliation with the world. Though the world collapses, nothing happens, and while nothing is happening, only the poet’s monologue remains.
There are no expectations.
