A novel of learning tinged with strange sensations, Un éclair bleu azur features Son Mi-ok, a young girl in a Korean family marred by the loss of her father's job. As she grows up, Son Mi-ok's relationships with her family, friends and boyfriend shape her personality, which is by turns troubled, disturbing and moving. A young woman with a striking voice, Son Mi-ok recounts her relationship with her body, sexuality, food and literature. Kwon Yeo-sun has made her character, in contrast to traditional voices, the explosive symbol of the Korean generation of the 1980s, lost in the country's upheavals.
