Mun Yeongnam (1960-) is a South Korean TV writer who debuted in 1991 with TV munyegeukjang – geomeun yangbok (TV문예극장 – 검은 양복 TV Literary Theater: The Black Suit). Mun published the novel Hwanggane sikgudeul (황가네 식구들 The Members of the Hwang Family) in 1994, and adapted it into the TV drama Barameun bureodo (바람은 불어도 Even if the Wind Blows). Roh Kyeongshik (1938~) is a South Korean playwright. He made his literary debut in 1965 when his play “Cheolsae” (철새 Migratory Bird) won the Seoul Shinmun New Writer’s Contest. He has written plays about historical figures and the issues of national division. I Siwon (1973-) is a South Korean playwright who debuted in 2005 with the play “Nokchajeongwon” (녹차정원 The Green Tea Garden), which was awarded the Okrang Theater Prize (옥랑희곡상). Park Jung-Ki is a South Korean playwright, director, and critic. Park was awarded the Samsung Literary Arts Prize (삼성문예상) in 1993 for the play “Gotongi eopsi eojji areumdaumi pieonari” (고통이 없이 어찌 아름다움이 피어나리 How Can Beauty Bloom Without Pain?). Lee Man-Hee (1954-) is a South Korean playwright who debuted in 1979 with Yeongwonhi jiweojiji anneun mira sogui sichaedeul (영원히 지워지지 않는 미라 속의 시체들 The Bodies in the Mummies That Will Never be Erased), which was selected by the Dong-a Ilbo’s long-form theater competition. Lee sets out to explore the essence of humanity, and has focused on a Buddhist reflection on human existence in his works.
