Shin Hankyun
신한균
Shin Hankyun is a South Korean pottery artisan and novelist. Shin carries on traditional Joseon-era bowl-making techniques and displays his works at domestic and international galleries. In order to recreate the lives of Joseon-era pottery artisans who mastered Joseon white porcelain, which contributed to Japan’s economic rise, Shin wrote the epic historical novel Sinui geureut (신의 그릇 The Bowl of God) (2008). The novel tells the story of a Japanese pottery artisan who was dragged to Japan during the Imjin War. It was translated into Japanese under the title Kami no utsuwa and became a bestseller. •Novel Sinui geureut (신의 그릇 The Bowl of God) (2008)
