Baek Young-soo was a member of the New Realism movement, founded in 1947 alongside prominent Korean artists such as Kim Whanki, Lee Jung-seop, and Chang Ucchin. He served as a judge for the "Joseon Comprehensive Art Exhibition," the first national exhibition after liberation, and was a standing committee member of the Korean Art Association. After moving to Paris in 1977, he worked as a contracted artist for the Yomiuri Art Center and participated in over 100 exhibitions, including 22 solo and group exhibitions at venues such as the Pagani Gallery in Milan, Italy.
