Author Bio 작가 소개
Gwon Junghyeon (1970-) is a South Korean novelist. He made his literary debut in 2002 when he published his short story “Nasi inneun punggyeong” (낫이 있는 풍경The Landscape with a Scythe) in Chungcheong Ilbo and another short story “Su” (수Embroidery) in the Chosun Ilbo. He received acclaim for writing works with strong historical and social aspects. In particular, his novel Bulgeun hyeo (붉은 혀 Red Tongue) (2017), set in Manchuria during the Japanese colonial period, received the 7th Honbul Literary Award for the novelty of the subject matter and charming character descriptions.
