Han Seojeong, whose life is forced into a corner, enters the Servant School To quit living as a servant and begin living as a master Beyond the Door, to the Outside WorldIn the hour when the darkness falls, Seojeong walks down the darkened road. She goes into a coniferous forest that separates the luxurious Resort Solaz from the rest of the world. Digging her way through the narrow bushes, Seojeong arrives at an ominous door. She hesitates in front of it, but at last, she pushes the door open and steps in. She passes a dark corridor and reaches a deep underground, where a place that is as magnificent as a six-star hotel unfolds before her eyes. It is the Servant School, also known as the ‘outside world.’ It is an institute that transforms those living the life of a servant to live the life of a master. Having nowhere else to go, Seojeong decides to sign up for the Servant School. A Fake Life, a New World Seojeong’s life has been full of ups and downs. Her family has been once wealthy but one day, they go bankrupt, and while bouncing around rundown neighborhoods, she loses her only family, her father. From then on, she hides her background and pretends to be a student studying at a prestigious university and later an employee with an average office job, but even her fake life comes to an end when she gets accused of fraud, embezzlement, and even murder. Seojeong panics, but her childhood friend, Jinuk, directs her to go to a place where she won’t meet her end, a place where she can start over. That is how Seojeong ends up arriving at the Servant School. A student comes as a servant, but she leaves as a master. Only the top student survives. At the Servant School, students’ goal is to become a chaebol, or a wealth clique , so that as the most powerful one, they can rid themselves of their pasts and live like true masters. Although Seojeong doesn’t fully understand the way things work at the school, she has no other choice but to conform to the new standards. From Lowest to Highest, From Darkness to Light The classes at the Servant School are a little different. Students are asked to analyze the target chaebols, everything from their psychology to their secrets. They are to master all the information about the businesses these chaebols run. Sleep, food, and laughter are nothing but luxuries to the students. The school enforces draconian measures that can hardly be justified as an excuse for education and without leaving a single trace, they eliminate the students who fail to keep up. Only one student who successfully survives all the brutalities can graduate from the school and gain the opportunity to become a chaebol. Seojeong, too, struggles to survive, and each day, her inner self breaks down a little. One day, Yujin, the only person with whom Seojeong opens up her feelings, goes missing. Then she finds out that Jinuk is the servant of Ihwa, the school principal. For some reason, however, Jinuk helps Seojeong, who follows his direction and sneaks into the principal’s office with the hope to find Yujin, who she knows has hidden her daughter somewhere in this ‘outside world.’While hiding in the office, Seojeong gets caught by Geumhui, the former graduate of the Servant School who has ridden roughshod over everyone else to reach where she is, and who is now rumored to be the next school director. Seojeong feels uneasy about Geumhui, who tells Seojeong that she reminds her of her past. Weirdly intrigued by Seojeong, Geumhui opens the door to the room hidden on one side of the office and lets her in. There, Seojeong finds out the secret of the Servant School and the truth behind the great power that can turn the lowest lives into chaebols’ lives. Seojeong pulls herself together again.
