About Event

Giving a voice to the unsayable
Since 2020, each year after the award for the Nobel Prize is announced, the embassy of Sweden in Seoul invites experts, academia, and the general public to symposia on the announced awards in each field. This is to commemorate Alfred Nobel and to celebrate human endeavors in science, discovery, and curiosity.
Due to the Covid pandemic, we were only able to open an online symposium for the last 2 years, Finally, this year we plan to organize an onsite event, a symposium at Ewha Womans University(TBC) on 10th November 2022.The Ambassador and senior management officials from Swedish University partners will attend the event. Representatives from Korean partners, experts and academia are also invited as well.Speakers and panel will introduce work and author of this year’s Nobel Prize Award in Literature, and there will be also a following panel discussion over quality of literature, significance of literature in our life, and ways to develop and enhance quality of literature in Korea etc.

지난 2년간은 COVID-19 감염병으로 인해 온라인 심포지엄을 열 수밖에 없었지요. 마침내 올해는 2022년 11월 10일에 이화여자대학교(TBC)에서 현장 행사로 심포지엄을 준비하려 합니다. 이번 심포지엄에서는 올해 노벨 문학상의 작업과 작가에 대해서는 연사와 패널이 소개를 맡으며, 이어지는 패널 토론에서는 문학의 특성, 우리의 삶에서 문학이 갖는 중요성, 그리고 한국에서 문학의 특성을 발전시키고 강화하는 방법 등을 다룰 예정입니다. 이 행사는 일반 대중 및 이 분야 전문가들의 문학과 독서 및 노벨상에 대한 관심을 높이고, 궁극적으로는 한국과 스웨덴 간의 학술 교류를 높이기 위해, 전문가와 학계, 오피니언 리더, 정책입안자, 그리고 학생들을 한 자리에 모시려하니, 많은 참여 부탁드립니다!
